The Champs sur Marne twinning committee was created in the beginning of 90s. The twinning agreement between our cities was signed in May 2000 at Bradley Stoke. We will celebrate the 10th birthday of our collaboration next year! A good opportunity to strengthen our links! Since this date, we have organized sport meetings, school exchanges… Some of the events are engraved on the memory of the Champs and Bradley inhabitants. A few of them have kept in touch! That’s why we would like to restore an active partnership and organize new events with you.

Celebrating our 35th Birthday last year - 81 visitors were hosted from twin towns Witzenhausen Germany, and St Vallier-sur-Rhone France.
Our 36th is also special - 51 folk including 8 students representing Filton High travel to Witzenhausen for a week, staying with host families.
One day is dedicated to Witzenhausen’s International Green Week Entertainment/Exhibition. We exhibit material/handouts and samples of food and drink relevant to South Glos.
Our dancing and singing skills will be performed to a very wide audience!
During this visit, our members will meet Witzenhausen’s other linked towns representatives from Italy, Turkey and Uganda.

The link with Cesson is an important part of our identity as a community, and an opportunity for people of all ages to participate in an association with a like-minded township overseas. There are many who can testify to the hospitality of Cesson; through the welcome it never fails to offer us and the wholehearted involvement of its citizens in supporting the aims and activities of twinning groups.
The social events we hold provide anyone who is interested with opportunity for friendly participation, and help us raise the funds we need to further our aims as an association.

Yate is twinned with the picturesque town of Bad Salzdetfurth in Germany, which has a history of salt mining and is a spa town. The association between the two towns was formed in 1985 and since that time there have been formal council and family visits between the two towns each year. Each time visitors stay in local residents homes and over the years many lasting friendships have been made.
