In order to secure the conservation and protection of the local archaeological heritage a register of archaeological and historical sites, structures and find-spots, known as the Historic Environment Record (HER), has been set up. Records are maintained within the Environment and Conservation Section of South Gloucestershire Council.
We are able to supply a printout of data from the Historic Environment Record on request, together with maps where appropriate. We also have a dedicated study room which contains a variety of information including aerial photographs, guide books, archaeological site evaluations and assessments. Please telephone us to arrange a visit.
Requests from students and researchers are free. We may charge for copying. Commercial requests may be subject to a charge.
