Dog of the week

Please be aware that the dogs available for rehoming can change on a daily basis so please check regularly. If you would like to rehome a dog but we do not have the type of dog you are looking for, please contact us for a list of rescue organisations that may be able to help.

Wherever possible the dog wardens will try to get unclaimed dogs into the care of a rescue organisation which will ensure that they are vaccinated and neutered before going in to new homes. A link to the rescue concerned is given with the information on our dogs looking for homes so that you may contact them to register your interest.

Alternatively you can telephone the Streetcare helpdesk on 01454 868000 or email the dog wardens at dog.wardens@southglos.gov.uk.

This is Princess. She is a young German Shepherd Dog who was found in the Nibley area in a filthy condition with a matted coat and lots of fleas. She was extremely nervous but is slowly beginning to trust that people won’t hurt her. She is now in the care of GSD Lifeline who will be assessing her further in foster care and ensuring that she is spayed, chipped and vaccinated before looking for a new home. If you would like to register an interest in offering her a perfect home please contact them at www.gsdlifeline.com
This is Aladdin. He is a terrier, probably a yorkie cross, between 3 – 6 years old. He was found in a filthy condition with a matted coat and lots of fleas. He is a very friendly little dog despite the neglect he has suffered. He has now had a bath, a clip and flea treatment and will be rehomed through the Little Dog Rescue. If you think you can give him a wonderful home please contact www.littledogrescue.co.uk
This is Alvin and Simon. They were found straying together and nobody came forward to claim them. They are probably around a year old and very friendly. They will be looking for new homes soon through The Little Dog Rescue. If you are interested and can offer a wonderful home please contact www.littledogrescue.co.uk
Millie the staffie is a lovely dog who is less than two years old. She was found straying and her owner would rather she was put to sleep than come to claim her. She is friendly, travels brilliantly, is crate trained, has a good sit, gives paw, and is okay on the lead. Millie needs an experienced home where in time she will become a wonderful companion. Potential owners will be required to visit Millie several times before taking her home and free support and training will be given. Millie is under the care of Heart Rescue and she is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Millie is being fostered near Bristol.

Porsche is a lovely little Jack Russell terrier who was found near The Mall in Patchway and not claimed. She is a friendly girl and loves to be cuddled. She will soon be going to The Little Dog Rescue. Please contact them if you can offer her or one of their other wonderful little dogs a great home.

Porcshe is now into foster with Little Dog Rescue.

Sparky is a male Jack Russell Terrier approximately 3 years old. He was handed in to a local vet when he was found wandering around the Stoke Gifford area. Sparky is initially wary of new people, but once he gets to know you he enjoys a bit of fuss and is a wonderful character. Sparky appears to lack confidence around other dogs, but with steady socialisation, he will become comfortable in other dogs company. Sparky would much rather be in a home than stuck in kennels so if you think you can offer this handsome little chap the loving home he deserves then please do get in touch.

Sparky is now into foster with Little Dog Rescue.
