Dog of the week

Please be aware that the dogs available for rehoming can change on a daily basis so please check regularly. If you would like to rehome a dog but we do not have the type of dog you are looking for, please contact us for a list of rescue organisations that may be able to help.

Wherever possible the dog wardens will try to get unclaimed dogs into the care of a rescue organisation which will ensure that they are vaccinated and neutered before going in to new homes. A link to the rescue concerned is given with the information on our dogs looking for homes so that you may contact them to register your interest.

Alternatively you can telephone the Streetcare helpdesk on 01454 868000 or email the dog wardens at dog.wardens@southglos.gov.uk.

Jackie This is Jackie. She is a whippet lurcher who was found near The Mall in Patchway and never claimed by her owner. She is a very gentle dog who walks beautifully on the lead. She is middle aged, very thin and battle scarred. She would love a warm, cosy home with a comfy sofa to sleep on and loving new owners. She has now moved on to Greyhound Rescue West of England so please contact them if you think you are that special person. www.grwe.com
Jill This is Jill. She is a small lurcher puppy who was found near The Mall in Patchway and never claimed by her owner. She still has puppy teeth so is not more than around 5 months of age. She has obviously never been taught how to walk on the lead and tends to panic but will soon get over this with careful training. She would love a kind owner to teach her, take her for active walks and give her a comfy sofa to rest on. She has now moved on to Greyhound Rescue West of England so please contact them if you think you are that special person. www.grwe.com
This is Princess. She is a young German Shepherd Dog who was found in the Nibley area in a filthy condition with a matted coat and lots of fleas. She was extremely nervous but is slowly beginning to trust that people won’t hurt her. She is now in the care of GSD Lifeline who will be assessing her further in foster care and ensuring that she is spayed, chipped and vaccinated before looking for a new home. If you would like to register an interest in offering her a perfect home please contact them at www.gsdlifeline.com
