Directions

The library is sited prominently in Hanham High Street - the A431 Bristol to Bath Road. It immediately adjoins Hanham Youth Centre and is opposite the post office.

From Bristol it is approximately a quarter of a mile east of the junction with Memorial Road. From Bath it is approximately three quarters of a mile west of the junction with Marsham Way roundabout.

The car park at the rear of the building (access to the right of the youth centre). Service all on one level.

Monday: 9.00am - 5.00 p.m.
Tuesday: 9.00am - 7.00 p.m.
Wednesday: closed
Thursday: 9.00am - 5.00 p.m.
Friday: 9.00am - 5.00 p.m.
Saturday: 9.30am - 5.00 p.m.
Sunday: closed

Hanham library also sells Readyspex reading glasses, has a laminating service and computer games for hire.

Special events

  • Pre-school storytime: 2.15pm-2.45pm on Thursdays in term-time
  • Regular programme of holiday activities
  • Over 2 U Club for young people age 11+. Meets the first Thursday of every month, 5:30 – 7:00pm. £1.00 per session. Great activities coming up this year from a dance workshop to T-Shirt painting to a murder mystery night.
  • Bounce and Rhyme Time for babies and toddlers every Monday, from 9.30am - 10.00am
  • Chatterbooks reading group for children. Meet once a month on a Saturday.
  • Reading group on the third Tuesday of every month, 11.00am - 12 midday
  • Reading group on the second Thursday of every month at 5.30pm.
  • Computer Support Volunteers are available for one-to-one basic IT sessions, including helping with the BBC’s First Click basic IT course. Please ask staff for details.
  • Fancy a cuppa? Drop in to Hanham Library - Tea and coffee served 10.00 – 12.00 every Friday morning. Catch up with friends or enjoy a cup of tea whilst you browse the books or the internet!
