Take up a New Challenge
That’s what we’re hoping local families are doing on the permanent orienteering trail in the Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve in Bradley Stoke.
The course provides a chance to explore the woodlands, ponds, lakes and grassland around the reserve while enjoying a challenging and exciting activity.
Orienteering is fun whatever your fitness level or age. Participants follow a course by finding a series of marker posts and getting back to the finish as quickly as possible.
You can also use the rubbing plaques set into each post as a family activity. Visit three or four of them as part of our food chain nature trail or try finding all 22 posts.
More information can be found out about Orienteering by searching for 'O' using the search box above.
Alternatively, purchase a map, rubbing sheets and crayon for £1 from Bradley Stoke library. You don’t need to attend a particular session and you don't need a coach: you can go along and start any time.
