Drugs and alcohol

Most commonly used drugs like speed, cannabis and ecstasy are illegal.

Alcohol and nicotine (contained in cigarettes) are not illegal although you may be too young to buy them legally. All these drugs can be addictive and all can be dangerous, particularly if you take more than one together. You can find out more about the legal and health results of taking drugs by following the links on this page.

The important thing for your safety is to stay in control of yourself. If you lose control you can do things that will have serious or dangerous results, or you may just end up looking stupid.

You can email your problems to whatsup@southglos.gov.uk

Please note that emails sent to What's UP will only be answered every two weeks. In an emergency you could use one of the emergency contacts, see the 'More in this topic' link.
