The Landscape Consultancy Role

• A major project to extend the existing play area in Kingsgate Park with a scheme that works around and incorporates the existing mature trees
• The project was won through a competitive fee bid, including sketch ideas submitted to Yate Town Council. Extensive consultation was undertaken with Councillors, the Friends Group and children at local junior and senior schools. The resulting design went out to tender, with an element of Contractor’s Design, which was won by The Children’s Playground Company
• The design team supervised the contract and also ran workshops during the construction. These included a carving workshop to produce the totem pole, willow weaving and painting of the shelters
