We are responsible for installing or removing road markings and signs on public roads in South Gloucestershire, except for motorways. We have to comply with rules set out in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions (TSRGD) of 2002. Any markings not in this document need special authorisation from the Department for Transport. Some road markings, like double yellow lines and other waiting restrictions can only be introduced after a Traffic Regulation Order has been made. This is because they have legal implications. If road users ignore them, they might be committing a traffic offence.
If you want to see new signs or markings in your street or at your business, or would like to see signs or markings removed please contact us.
