Promotional campaigns

Taking part in the following campaigns is a positive way of encouraging friends and colleagues to think about how they travel to school, work or leisure and what changes they could make to cut down congestion, pollution and save money.

Local campaigns

  • Jam Busting June - if you are a commuter you can take up the challenge to get to work without your car, or by car-sharing during June. For every six one way trips (or three return journeys) you achieve this (ten for motorcycles over 400cc) you earn an entry in a free prize draw. Eligible modes include walking, cycling, scooter, motorcycle, bus, park & ride, train, ferry, car sharing and working from home – and anything else which isn’t driving one your own such as skateboarding or rollerblading! For more information click on the link on the right-hand side.

  • Sunday 15th June: Family cycle treasure hunt - A FREE family cycle treasure hunt with chance to win a bike. Using the map provided, you will have to find the clues along the route and mark them on a score card. There are clues for adults and children to find along the route.

You can cycle one of two routes on the Bristol to Bath Railway Path between Staple Hill and Bath. Each route is approximately 5 miles long but if you’d like a better chance of winning or fancy a longer ride, the total route is approximately 10 miles long. Either route will probably take you between 1 and 2 hours, it’s not a race but remember the last start time is 2pm to make sure you are finished by 4pm.

  • Wednesday 18th June: Bike Breakfast - A FREE breakfast for cyclists from our marquee near the Ring Road. The Big Bike Breakfast menu includes bacon rolls, pastries, croissants, cereal bars and fruit. Dr Bike will be available to help carry out free minor repairs and adjustments to bikes.

Further details about these events will be available nearer the time and other local campaigns in due course.
