The Highway Code is essential reading for everyone. Its rules apply to all road users: pedestrians, horseriders and cyclists as well as motorcyclists and drivers.
Many of the rules in the code are legal requirements and if you disobey these rules you are committing a criminal offence. You may be fined, given penalty points on your licence or be disqualified from driving.

The RAC Foundation for Motoring is established to promote the environmental, economic, mobility and safety issues relating to use of motor vehicles. The RAC Foundation has developed close links with central and local government departments, national organisations such as RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) and the media as well as providing representation on a number of advisory committees and working groups.
