Hiring public open space

Road to Nowhere, Yate

We can hire out some of the public open spaces we manage, providing you agree to certain criteria. Contact us in writing, giving us full details of the event you wish to hold.

Below are some of our more popular venues.

Yate Common, Westerleigh Road, Yate

This common can cater for larger events. It has previously been hired by circus and fairground operators, and has also been the venue for a charity family fun day.

Road to Nowhere, Yate Common, Westerleigh Road, Yate

This is a stretch of road that runs along one inside edge of Yate Common. It is not open to traffic, making it an ideal film location. It has been hired by a number of programme/film-makers and has appeared in several episodes of Casualty. It has also been used by the police for training purposes.

Kingswood Park, Kingswood

This is used for a variety of community events including Playlink summer playschemes held during the school holidays. It can also provide a pleasant setting for wedding photography.

Page Park, Staple Hill

This is regularly used for community events for young people. It hosts Playlink summer playschemes during the school holidays and is also used by the Staple Hill Youth Project. The park has an attractive traditional bandstand and during the summer months a local silver band regularly entertains park visitors of all ages with a wide variety of music. This is also a popular location for wedding photography.

Bristol to Bath Railway Path

This is often used as a venue for charity walks. The council does not charge for these types of events, but you must still get our permission.
