The local authority provides a range of services to students and parents applying for student loans, various grants and awards. This also includes the School Access Fund along with travel assistance for students aged between sixteen and nineteen studying at South Gloucestershire schools. We can offer childcare grants for full-time students with dependent children in registered and approved childcare. You cannot get this grant if you or your spouse/partner receives the childcare element of the Working Tax Credit from the Inland Revenue. This grant is not available to NHS bursary holders.
Disabled Students Allowance (DSA) is available to both undergraduates and postgraduates, to assist with additional costs such as items of specialist equipment and non-medical help. DSA support exists to enable disabled students to study at the same level as their non-disabled fellow students. Full-time and part-time students, including distance learning students may be eligible.
