What funding is available to your club?
There are a number of funding schemes available to sports clubs, run by the council or other bodies. These are detailed below and for further information please contact 'Community Sport'.
Capital Grants (South Gloucestershire) - Capital grants are available to support voluntary and community groups' capital projects, such as buying or enhancing land or buildings and buying or replacing equipment, machinery and vehicles.
Small (revenue) grants (South Gloucestershire) - Grants are awarded to local groups to develop projects and provide activities that meet local needs. Categories of work include art and culture, children and play, community safety, developing communities, enhancing the natural and built environment, learning activities, promoting equality and tackling poverty, sports and for supporting vulnerable people. Please note the closing date for applications this year is 30th November 2009.
2010-2011 Youth Opportunity Fund - Closing Date for Youth Opportunity Fund – Friday 12th March (Panel Meeting at Poole Court Yate – Tuesday 30th March)
Closing Date for Youth Capital Fund – Friday 30th April (Panel Meeting at Poole Court – Wednesday 26th May)
Please note that the Youth Opportunity Fund dates are earlier than in previous years; this is to ensure continuation of the delivery of high quality projects previously funded only to the end of March 2010.

Safer and Stronger Community grants (South Gloucestershire) - The application process is open to: all voluntary and community sector organisations that are actively engaged with the Safer and Stronger Community Groups (SSCG), SSCGs for collective group action, and other group partners that support the delivery of actions identified by the SSCGs. The applications will be assessed based on the following priorities: Improving community cohesion, Changing community perceptions, Reduction in crime/violent crime, Increase community engagement especially for people that feel excluded, Tackling drug or alcohol, Strengthening communities in relation to community safety, Tackling anti-social behaviour, Cleaner and safer environment, Improving quality of life
Awards for All - Is a Lottery grants scheme funding small, local community-based projects in the UK. Type of work funded: projects that improve communities and the lives of people within them.
Sport England - Is committed to the creation of a world-leading community sport system. This means focusing our investment on organizations and projects that will grow and sustain participation in grassroots sport and create opportunities for people to excel at their chosen sport. The funding programmes available are: Small Grants, Sportsmatch, Innovation Fund, Rural Communities (this is the first of our themed funding rounds), Sustainable Facilities Fund
Quartet - Quartet Community Foundation is a charity that helps donors in Bristol, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire to support the local causes and charities they care about and make an impact through their giving.
Sports Aid - In the South West is an established part of the sporting landscape. Regional support is vital to our continued growth and we are grateful to local authorities, local trusts and rotary clubs who recognise how important it is to invest in the future of our homegrown sporting talent.
Support for Disabled Sports people - There are several organizations working towards improved accessibility of sports for disabled people at every level: sport England, The English Federation of Disability Sport, The Inclusive Fitness Initiative, Parasport, The Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme, Government Sports Initiatives
Community Fund - The Community Fund is a grants scheme that helps local communities throughout the UK. Since the scheme started the initiative in 1997, thousands of clubs, community groups and self-help organisations have benefited. The way the scheme works is by committed members of The Co-operative Group who want to help improve the lives of others, donate part or all of their share of the profits. These members have already raised millions of pounds each year for all kinds of community projects.
SITA Funding - SITA Trust is an ethical funding organisation dedicated to making lasting improvements to the natural environment and community life. The Trust is a not-for-profit company, a registered and accredited environmental body that operates under the Landfill Communities Fund distributing funds donated by the recycling and resource management company SITA UK.
