South Gloucestershire News is the council's magazine for residents. It's published four times a year and is delivered directly to households, as well as being available at council offices, libraries and leisure centres throughout the district.
It aims to keep people informed about local issues and key services provided by the council.
The current issue includes all the latest on the budget for the forthcoming year and details of a further council tax freeze.
Our cover story features Bradley, a teenager with autism, who has a really supportive short break carer called Christine. We are looking to recruit more carers like Christine under a scheme called share the care and we hope their story will encourage more people to come forward.
And with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics just around the corner, there is plenty going on in South Gloucestershire this summer which is shaping up to be a corker. We have launched a photo competition (www.southglos.gov.uk/2012olympictorch) to capture the best images of life in the area.
On top of this there are two supplements – On the Move and SORT IT!* – providing all the latest transport and recycling news in the district.
