Voting in person
The address of your polling station will be printed on a poll card which will be sent to your address before the election.
If you have not received a poll card, please contact Electoral Services who will check whether you are registered and tell you where you should vote.
You can only vote in the polling station allocated to you and not in any others.
Please bring the poll card with you to the polling station when you come to vote. This will save time but it is not essential.
Postal and proxy votes
Electors wishing to vote by post may do so for any reason whatsoever. In fact, a reason is not required when you apply to vote by post. There is also no requirement for anyone to support your application.
The elections pages of the website will provide details of the deadline for postal and proxy applications.
If you apply for a postal vote a ballot paper will be sent to you approximately one week before the election. Electoral Legislation means that the ballot paper cannot be sent earlier.
A proxy vote allows another person to vote on your behalf with your permission. You need to tell your proxy who you want to vote for. If you decide to appoint a permanent proxy, your application has to be supported. A temporary proxy is available to all Electors. There are certain qualifications necessary for a permanent proxy, please ring 01454 863030 for advice.
Contact Electoral Services for a postal application form or a proxy application form.
