Friends of Page Park

Sensory Garden Opening

The opening of the Sensory garden

The friends group was formed more than ten years ago and they work with officers from South Gloucestershire Council to maintain and improve aspects of the park.

We aim as a group to improve facilities and access for all in Page Park, Staple Hill and we promote good community relations by working with many other groups and organisations, bridging the age, race and ability gaps. We are dedicated to renovating and preserving our heritage for future generations to enjoy.

As a group we meet once every three months, as we have many sub committees we find the three monthly meetings give us more time to make progress with sub committee works.

Currently we have sub committees for the older children's play area, Sensory Gardens, Centenary event and the Heritage Lottery Application.

Some of the projects that the friends group have been involved in include.
• Lobbying and gaining support to encourage the Installation of a children’s play area in the park
• Installation of a New Aviary
• Creation and maintenance of the Sensory Garden
• Organisation and holding Public events in the Park to include the Centenary celebrations this year (2010)
