A Mother's Guide To Cheating by Kate Long
Another great Kate Long novel, full of brilliant characterisation. The novel centres around Carol and her daughter Jaz and the relationship they have. It is the story of a how a middle-aged woman deals with family problems caused by the cheating of her husband and son-in-law (and the selfish actions of her daughter).
The characters are multi-faceted, the writing is subtle and compelling and the ending deeply satisfying. Each chapter tells us about a photograph collection and the story behind the photograph which helps to fill in a lot of gaps about the Morgan family.
