Bookstart is a national scheme offering free books to every child and encouraging parents and carers to share books with children from an early age.
- Bookstart pack - for babies aged 7 - 9 months
- Bookstart plus - for toddlers aged 18 - 30 months
- Bookstart treasure box - for children aged 36 - 48 months
In South Gloucestershire the 'Bookstart bag' is given to babies by health visitors at their nine-month check. 'Bookstart plus' satchels can be collected from your local library and treasure boxes are distributed through nurseries and playgroups.
