No Babysitters Allowed by Amber Stewart
This is an amusing story about Hopscotch, who is fiercely opposed to having a babysitter when his parents are going out for the evening. The babysitter is very clever and tricks him out of his den, by reading his favorite stories, but reading them all wrong. Hopscotch can’t bear this so he comes out and tells the babysitter how the stories should be and then they become friends. The illustrations, by Laura Rankin, are brilliant.
