Information on special educational needs

The Special Educational Needs (SEN) section is responsible for:

  • SEN policy and review
  • Providing the first point of contact for schools, parents and other agencies in respect of the Statutory Assessment Process and Statements of Special Educational Needs
  • Administration of the Statutory Assessment Process under the 1996 Education Act and the SEN Code of Practice
  • Ensuring that annual reviews and transition reviews are held for each pupil with a Statement of Special Educational Needs
  • Transport entitlement for pupils with a Statement of Special Educational Needs
  • The response to exclusions of pupils with a Statement of Special Educational Needs
