Carers week

National Carers Week takes place from 13-19 June and South Gloucestershire Council has funded a range of events across the district which it hopes will not only attract existing carers, but also encourage many ‘hidden’ carers to come forward.

A range of interesting activities includes a ‘Laughter’ event, a Street Dancing session, a pampering and therapies session, a cream tea and celebration event at The Chantry in Thornbury for carers and the person they care for. Other events include a Healthy Living cookery demonstration and a ‘Gardener’s Question Time’.

For more information about all the activities taking place during National Carers Week in South Gloucestershire and the full programme of activities for both Carers Week and Celebrating Age fortnight see the Read More section on the right hand side.

Programmes can also be obtained at libraries and One-Stop shops around South Gloucestershire.
