Once you are trained up you are not left on your own! The team is always on the end of the phone to help out if you have any problems or if you need to change or cancel a day that you are down to help with a walk. Our current volunteers are a very helpful and friendly bunch who will be on-hand at the walks if you need any help or support.
We have 3 meetings per year, per area to give us a chance to catch up with you all. This gives us the opportunity to let you know what is happening with the scheme and the chance for you to report back any comments, problems or concerns that you may have. It is also a chance for us to plan the next walk programme.
You will receive a volunteer newsletter twice a year, in January and July. This will keep you updated on what is happening across the areas, any training/insurance issues we need to tell you about and offer a way for you to express any points that have arisen.
We also hold an annual 'thank you' event where we get all the South Glos volunteers together for a day out.
