South Gloucestershire’s Community Meals Service is changing to an innovative and impressive new service by using school kitchens to produce the meals, which ultimately provide a fresher and better product to clients.
To date there are six schools taking part in the scheme, St Chads Patchway Primary School, Bradley Stoke Community School, Hanham High School, Kingsfield Secondary School, King Edmund Community School and Mangotsfield Secondary School.
Feedback received from our clients has been very positive due to older and disabled clients now benefiting from the same fresh organic produce that our school children enjoy.
This initiative has meant we can establish links between the school and its local community, and also by delivering from a local school, substantially reducing the service’s overall carbon footprint.
