Project Description:
The 18th century Clocktower was once a pin factory and is one of the last surviving industrial buildings from the Champion Brass Works at Warmley near Bristol. The site is a listed building set within a conservation area and includes a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It is owned by South Gloucestershire Council and leased to The Clocktower Association community group.
The Association currently has long term plans to upgrade the facilities of the building and surrounding land. LC were originally appointed for the planning, design and implementation of landscape proposals. However, as the project has developed and the complexities of the site have emerged, LC has taken on the role of Project Management acting as agent to The Clocktower Association in applications for planning consents and appointment of consultants.
Works included site demolition work, improvement of boundary features, lighting and security, the provision of paving incorporating historic features and the commissioning of an artist to work with the community groups to produce sculpture, gates and signage which will compliment the historic building and its industrial heritage.
