Emergency Planning Unit

Emergencies can happen anywhere, at any time and they can take many forms. Fortunately major emergencies are rare, however when they occur, the size of the incident often means that organisations need to work together to respond as quickly and efficiently as possible. The Emergency Planning Unit works closely with all council departments, the emergency services, voluntary agencies, private industry and other specialist organisations to achieve this.

We also:

Provide advice and guidance on emergency planning issues.
Prepare the council's response to major incidents.
Meet statutory obligations relating to emergency planning legislation.
