Searches are usually carried out by a solicitor, although some people do it on their own. If you are carrying out your own search you need to complete and return forms LLC1 and CON29 (in duplicate) together with two sets of location plans and the correct fee. Personal searches
Personal searches are carried out by appointment between the hours of 10 to 12 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. All personal searches are dealt with at the Thornbury office.
A limit on the number of personal searches may be necessary to avoid any disruption in our main service area but we will review this procedure periodically. Appointments to be made no later than 2.00 p.m. the day before. Should you be unable to attend our offices on the day of the appointment, we will hold your personal search information for a further two working days
CON29R information
CON29R information is now available from the Local Land Charges Section (see fees). The Planning Register is available on the web site and at the One Stop Shop in Thornbury as well as other statutory registers. The publicly adopted highways and public rights of way are available from Highways Searches at Broad Lane Yate.
