Supporting People performance monitoring

National key performance indicators (KPIs)

The national key performance measures are based on measuring the outcome of different types of services. There are two national indicators. These are:

  • NI 141 - Service users who have been supported to move on in a planned way from temporary living arrangements
  • NI 142 - Service users who are supported to establish and maintain independent living

Fair Access

The data collected from the client record forms will enable the fair access to be measured. With the exception of 'exempted' services a client record form should be completed for each new user entering the service.

Local performance indicators

Within the Supporting People programme there are a number of performance indicators against which the performance of providers of support services will be assessed.

In order to measure the performance of providers, local authorities responsible for the contractual and payment arrangements under Supporting People ('administering authorities') need to collect a range of information from providers. The requirement of providers to submit this information is contained within the Supporting People interim and steady state contracts.

The information South Gloucestershire Council is collecting is on

  •  support planning,
  • complaints
  • ethnic origin of service users.
  • Service availability
  • Utilisation levels
  • Staffing levels
  • Throughput
