The Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Document (AH SPD) is part of South Gloucestershire Council’s Local Development Framework and replaces the previous Affordable Housing Draft Supplementary Planning Guidance. The AH SPD was adopted by the Council on 2nd September 2008, following public consultation on the Draft SPD earlier in the year. This included a statutory six week period of public consultation from 25 January until 7 March 2008. The Council received comments on the Draft SPD, from the public and stakeholders such as parish councils, developers and registered social landlords, to whom it responded and amended the draft document as appropriate. A schedule containing all comments received and the Council’s responses and subsequent amendments is publicly available.
Once it had been adopted through the Council’s Executive decision making process, the final version was placed on the Council’s website along with the following supporting documents: the AH SPD Consultation Statement, the AH SPD Sustainability Appraisal Report and the AH SPD Sustainability Statement.
The AH SPD clarifies and expands on the Council’s existing affordable housing policies H6 and H7 of the Adopted South Gloucestershire Local Plan. The AH SPD should be consulted by all developers and landowners considering residential development proposals.
The AH SPD can be viewed via the ‘read more’ section on this page.
The supporting documents are available in 'Documents in the South Gloucestershire LDF' on the Planning pages of the website.
