Warm and Well is a project which aims to help people keep their homes warm and comfortable by being energy-efficient. Warm and Well is managed by the Severn Wye Energy Agency on behalf of South Gloucestershire Council and its partners Cotswold District Council, Gloucester City Council, Forest Of Dean District Council, Stroud District Council, Cheltenham Borough Council and Tewkesbury Borough Council. The scheme aims to:
- Provide awareness of energy issues
- Provide advice about home improvements that will increase energy efficiency
- Give grants for home improvements works to people on benefits or pensioners with limited resources
- Help other people get discounts from contractors to carry out home improvement works
Both homeowners and private tenants can apply for the discounts or grants, which cover works such as:
- Loft and cavity wall insulation
- Replacement boilers
- Draught proofing
- Heating control upgrades
- Hot water tanks
- Gas or electrical heating

Warm front
You may qualify for a government grant if you receive an income-related or disability-related benefit and you:
- Have a child under 16 or
- Are pregnant and have been given a MAT B1 certificate or
- Are 60 or over or
- Disabled or
- Have a long-term illness
