The coach apprenticeship scheme is a programme of accreditation and mentoring for sports and fitness orientated volunteers aged 17+. The programme continues over several months and will consist of various stages. At the end of the scheme apprentices would be appropriately qualified and experienced as assistant coaches/instructors.
Courses covered:
Stage 1 –Safeguarding young people, Equity in your Coaching and Sports Ability (practical participation) workshops
Stage 2 – Level Two Award in Community Sports Leadership (practical participation). The award is a nationally recognised award that helps individuals develop their leadership skills. It’s a fun course and offers an insight into the enjoyment one can gain through sports leadership. It’s a practical qualification where candidates learn through doing, rather than through written work
Stage 3 – Inclusion (practical participation)
Stage 4 – Volunteering (practical participation)
Stage 5 – Coach Development
Stage 6 – Level 1 Coaching Award
