Active for Life in sheltered housing

Older people exercising

The Active for Life ‘service’ includes taking exercise into sheltered housing schemes, for older people who may have difficulty in getting out to a centre.  Many residents have enjoyed taster sessions of gentle exercise, mainly from the chair, taught by a fully qualified instructor and completely free of charge.

Free training is also provided for any volunteers or members of staff who have an interest in keeping the activity going by leading informal sessions in the future. A follow-up session is also offered, during which progress is measured.

In certain cases there may even be an extended period of free instruction with a qualified instructor.
