“For general health benefits, adults should achieve a total of at least 30 minutes a day of at least moderate intensity physical activity on 5 or more days of the week.”
Chief Medical Officer, 2004

22.1% of adults in South Gloucestershire regularly participate in sport and active recreation for 3x30 minutes per week
Sport England Active People Survey, 2006

It would seem from the above that more people need to be more active more often! Active for Life aims to help people take part in at least three sessions of thirty minutes of moderate physical activity per week for general health benefits – and to build up form there until being active is an integral part of their lifestyle.

Many of you already do this and much more! Healthy eating is every bit as important as physical activity. This topic includes articles about general health, which we hope will be of interest to you.
