Hewlett Packard, based in Stoke Gifford, South Gloucestershire, has become the first workplace to achieve South Gloucestershire Council’s ‘Healthwise’ award.
The Healthwise Award recognizes and encourages outstanding practice in the areas of physical
activity, healthy eating and smoking cessation. HP is the fi rst to achieve all twelve strict criteria. The panel was particularly impressed with the range of physical activities and facilities available to staff as well as the wide range of healthy eating choices offered to employees on site. The overall impression is that HP has a desirable working environment conducive to high staff morale and increased production.
Councillor Heather Goddard, who presented the Healthwise Award to Steve Gill, Managing Director, HP UK & Ireland, said:
“In congratulating you on receiving this award, we are
pleased that your employees are offered healthy choices
together with help to stop smoking and opportunities for
physical activity at work. This combination of support we
hope will encourage your workforce to enjoy their work,
as well as provide increases in concentration and mental
alertness.”
