YODS at YOSC
Orienteering in Yate!
YODS stands for ‘Yate Orienteering Development Squad’: a series of sessions held at YOSC (‘Yate Outdoor Sports Complex’) during June and July. The sessions were supported by Bristol Orienteering Klub (BOK).
It was an orienteering club with a difference as it was open to 7-11 year olds with an adult. So it’s not only orienteering: it’s intergenerational orienteering! You heard it here first in your Active for Life newsletter!
Orienteering is a great way to exercise your mind and body at the same time. It’s an ideal outdoor activity for the whole family and by the way, you don’t have to run if you don’t want to!
The sessions were attended by enthusiastic families who kept wanting more. At the end of the course, they all attended an Active for Life family orienteering event at Wapley Bushes, Yate, held by BOK.
Please see 'other websites' for further information about orienteering.
