Small (revenue) grants

The round for 2012/13 is now closed.

Small (revenue) grants are awarded to local groups to develop projects and provide activities that meet local needs. Categories of work include art and culture, children and play, community safety, developing communities, enhancing the natural and built environment, learning activities, promoting equality and tackling poverty, sports and for supporting vulnerable people.

Capital grants

The round 2011/12 is now closed.

Capital grants are available to support voluntary and community groups' capital projects, such as buying or enhancing land or buildings and buying or replacing equipment, machinery and vehicles.

Funding is mainly available for smaller projects costing no more than £3,000 in total.

A capital grant can only be used for:

  • Buying or enhancing land
  • Buying, constructing or enhancing buildings
  • Buying, installing or replacing plant, machinery, apparatus and vehicles and vessels 

SSCG Initiative Fund 2012 – 2013 is now open.

All voluntary and community sector organisations that are actively engaged with the Safer and Stronger Community Groups, (SSCG) are welcome to apply for a Safer and Stronger Community Groups Initiative Fund.

Closing dates:
Phase 1:  Monday 23rd April 2012
Phase 2:  Monday 17th September 2012

All applications must be supported by your local Safer Stronger Community Group, and project ideas should be presented at a group meeting, and be agreed that it addresses an identified priority/issue of that group. If your next group meeting is after the deadline, we will be able to ask the support of members of the group via an egroup questionnaire. In order for a questionnaire to take place, we would need to have received an outline of your project by Friday 6th April (Phase 1 applications) to sscg@southglos.gov.uk.
