Births and deaths
Birth or death certificates issued at the time of registration cost £4.00. A birth or death certificate issued by the Registrar after the date of registration now costs £7.00 until the register is deposited with the Superintendent Registrar. A birth or death certificate issued by the Superintendent Registrar costs £10.00. Marriages
The cost of giving a notice of intention to marry is £35.00 per person, payable payable at the time the notice is given in cash, by card, or by cheque with a valid cheque card. Each party must give their own notice in person to the Superintendent Registrar.
Register office
Register office wedding, Monday to Saturday: £45.00
Certificate fee £4.00 for a certificate issued on the day of the wedding.
The cost of a certificate issued after the wedding from a current register is £7.00.
External venues
Attendance of registration staff at external venues from 1st May 2012 until 31st March 2013:
- Monday to Thursday £375
- Friday and Saturday £405
- Sunday £475
- Bank Holidays £475
- Certificate fee £4.00 (if issued on the day of the ceremony)
Civil partnerships
The cost of giving a notice of Civil Partnership is £35 00 per person, payable payable at the time the notice is given in cash, by card, or by cheque with a valid cheque card. Each party must give their own notice of Civil Partnership to the Civil Partnership Registrar.
A certified copy of the entry in the Civil Partnership Register costs £4.00 if requested on or before the date of the registration. If requested at a later date the cost is £10.00.

Civil Partnership registration, Monday to Saturday : £45.00
External venue
Civil partnership registration with the ceremony of your choice at approved premises in South Gloucestershire from 1 May 2012 to 31st March 2013:
- Monday to Thursday £345
- Friday and Saturday £360
- Sunday £415
- Bank Holidays £415
- Certificate fee £4.00 (if issued on the day of registration)
Naming ceremonies and renewal of vows
Availability at the register office is limited by the number of marriage or civil partnership ceremonies.
At South Gloucestershire Register Office, Monday to Friday only
From 1st May 2012 until 30th November 2012: £150
At external venues
Monday to Thursday £200
Friday and Saturday £230
Sunday and Bank Holiday £260
If you choose to have the ceremony at the register office the cost includes room hire. If you are using another venue you will have to add the cost of hiring the venue.
A non-refundable booking fee of £50 is payable at the time of booking. The balance of fees should be paid eight weeks before the ceremony.
