The Kingswood hub is located behind the main civic centre and opened 5 September 2011. Your new Kingswood hub has been designed to bring together services for children, young people and their families in one location and in an accessible and welcoming environment. Existing referral arrangements will remain the same. Services include:
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health services
- Community paediatricians
- Educational psychologists
- Educational welfare
- Family support services
- Health visiting service
- Inclusion support workers
- Midwifery service
- Physiotherapy/Occupational therapy
- School health nurses
- Social care services
- Speech and language therapists

Hub staff will be on hand to help with advice and support such as where to find your nearest children centre, youth centre, library or one stop shop. Connexions and other youth services will be based at the youth hub on Kingswood High Street.
The Kingswood hub brings together different council and health service teams to provide targeted advice, information and support to young people and their families.
The building supports the council’s accommodation strategy, promoting more effective use of the building by making it open plan, encouraging smarter working methods for all staff. It uses low and zero carbon technologies where practical and economic including:
- low energy and automatic lighting
- a combined heat and power plant
- photovoltaic cells for energy generation with the ability to sell spare electricity back to the national grid and
- low energy natural ventilation wherever possible
The design ensures that all parts of the building are fully accessible for staff and visitors with disabilities, including fully accessible toilet facilities, large lift and both infra red and induction loop facilities for the hard of hearing.
