Children's Fund

Launched in November 2000, the Children's Fund is a key part of the government's strategy to tackle disadvantage and inequality arising from child poverty and social exclusion. The programme aims to identify at an early stage children, young people and their families at risk of social exclusion and make sure that they receive the help and support they need to achieve their full potential. The fund provides additional resources over and above those provided through statutory mainstream services.
