Welcome to Sure Start

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to Mangotsfield Sure Start Children's Centre.
The centre is operated by a friendly team of workers that can offer support and assistance to parents/carers of pre-school children (0-5). We also have resources and an information service available for you to access, please speak with a member of the team for more information.

'Stay and play'

Stay and play is different from other parent and toddler groups. Stay and play aims to support parents with their child's physical, social and emotional development through providing a range of fun and exciting play activities. We are available to parents and families to offer support and information on a wide variety of areas, e.g. childcare provision and work opportunities.

Stay and play opening times 

Monday 1:15pm – 3:15pm
Wednesday 9:30am - 11:30am 

our Stay and Play sessions will continue during the School holidays, please note the dates of the Family sessions which you will need to book and the week we are closed 5th-9th September 2011.

Baby grow group

The next Baby Grow group will be on Thursday 12th January 2012 1.30-2.30pm
Baby Grow is a 6 week course that will cover a variety of topics that will help you understand your Baby. If the group has no spaces available you can still contact the centre and we will put your name down for the next group.

Baby massage

Baby massage is for babies under six months old.  It is a five week course and the next course is due to run every Friday 29th June - 27th July 2012 10-11.30am.

Targeted services

The Children’s Centre also offers a number of services that are targeted to meet specific needs of families. This includes working with families in their own homes and specialist groups. These groups can be accessed by self-referral, or a single service referral from any agency.

Little treasures

Little Treasures is a Parent led support group for Families with Children who have additonal needs, siblings are welcome.

The group meet on a Tuesday afternoon (Term time only) 1.00-2.30pm, for further information please contact Kay White on 01454 862974 or contact the Mangotsfield centre.

Childminder’s sessions

This weekly group aims to support child-minders in developing good practice and allowing children they care for to socialise in a good quality play environment. This group is supported by the South Gloucestershire Development Worker and is open to all registered child-minders.

The group meets on Tuesday Mornings from 9:30 - 11:30am.

All Sure Start Centres within South Gloucestershire now offer families with young children an information, advice and guidance service. Our Family Information Advisers can help you find out about local services and community provision, such as library services, toddler and preschool groups, local childminders etc. We have information kiosks in every Children’s Centre to help you find out about health services, training and jobs, debt advice, benefit entitlements and much more.
