Hello South Gloucestershire Day

Hello South Gloucestershire

Children do not learn to talk and communicate by accident!  Adults play a vital role in encouraging and supporting development of their language and communication skills. A recent study found that as many as 50% of children are starting school with delayed speech, language and communication skills.

The aim of the Hello campaign is to raise awareness among young families and parents-to-be about the importance of being able to talk and listen well. We would like everyone to get involved in our Hello South Gloucestershire Day to find out what they can do to help.

On Wednesday 28 September, South Gloucestershire will be holding several events across the county to get everyone involved and to give them more information about what they can do.

From 10.00am to 3.00pm we will be at:

  • Kingswood Library
  • Westgate Centre in Yate Shopping Centre
  • The Willowbrook Centre Bradley Stoke

Please come along and find out more. Also look out for information at your local library, pre-school and school.

The Hello campaign is run by The Communication Trust and is backed by the Department for Education. Further information is available from the Talking Point and Hello campaign websites, see 'other websites' on this page.
