The children's quality review unit has a unique position within the authority holding as it does a semi-independent role in reviewing and supporting work of all of the other teams involved with childrens social services. Within the team there are independent reviewing managers who principally chair child protection conferences as well as statutory looked-after reviews for children and young people in foster care.
Also located within the team is the complaints and consumer services function for children's social services as well as our secure estate social workers who serve the needs of young people in custody in our area.
The team is led by the safeguarding manager who has specific duties and responsibilities in relation to the South Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children Board.
