Charlton Hayes - Parish Council Consultation

This consultation is now closed

The Council are carrying out a review of the way decisions are made on local issues in your area and want to hear your views.

We want to know if you would like a Parish Council created to represent the interests of Charlton Hayes.

Why are we carrying out the review?

We are required to review arrangements for town and parish councils regularly through a process called a Community Governance Review.  In addition we have received a request from local councillors asking that a new parish is created to represent the residents of Charlton Hayes.

How will the review impact me?

If a new parish council was created for Charlton Hayes this could result in the following changes:

  • Greater control over the look and feel of your area, for instance adding additional seating and bins in public spaces.
  • A stronger voice on what happens in Charlton Hayes, such as planning applications and the management of public spaces.
  • Better reporting on value for money – the parish council will have to report to you on local spending and how they have delivered what you asked for.

Marking a consultation as relevant to a particular audience indicates that it may be of special relevance to people within that group. It doesn't, however, mean that other groups wont find the consultation of interest - we welcome responses from everybody.
For example, education issues may be of particular interest to Parents & Guardians, and so will be shown to people searching the system for parenting issues, but the views of others (eg: Business, Faith Groups) are also relevant.
