If you are planning to sell goods or services over the internet, using digital television, by mail order, phone or fax you must comply with the consumer protection (distance selling) regulations of 2000. You must:
- Give clear information about the goods or services you offer
- Send confirmation after a consumer makes a purchase
- Give the consumer a cooling-off period of seven working days
- Make your details available (to allow consumers to contact you again)
These regulations do not apply to business-to-business transactions.
