Adult Social Care Purchasing Intentions 2009 - 10

South Gloucestershire Council is committed to maintaining a productive and positive partnership with the providers of social care services, to ensure that services are available to meet the present and future needs of all of our citizens and service users.

As part of this commitment, the Community Care and Housing Department has prepared a document setting out its Purchasing Intentions for 2009/10 to give providers an indication of our purchasing plans and help them to plan their businesses more effectively.  The document can be found in the 'read more' box on this page.

The Department also arranges several ongoing Provider Forum and network meetings with;

  • Care Home providers
  • Day Service and Supported Living Providers
  • Domiciliary Care providers
  • Housing related support (Supporting People) providers
  • Voluntary and Community sector organisations

These Forum meetings are open to all providers working, or interested in working in South Gloucestershire and through these the Council has sought to engage and consult with providers and keep them informed about the Council’s strategic plans and commissioning strategies, including the Community Care and Housing Strategic Framework, the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (which sets out some of the key issues and commissioning challenges for South Gloucestershire) and the ongoing Integration and Transformation programme.
