If you are worried about a health and safety issue at work, you should first discuss it with a supervisor or line manager. In larger organisations, there should be a health and safety or union representative you can talk to.
If this does not resolve the issue, you can make a complaint to us. We will deal with all such calls in confidence, but we will need your name and phone number before we can investigate your complaint. This is so we can get back to you if we need more information or to give you feedback.
If we decide to follow up your complaint, we will normally visit your workplace and investigate. If we agree that your complaint is justified, we will take appropriate enforcement action.
We aim to start investigations within five working days of receiving your complaint, and to complete them within 60 working days. If we cannot meet these targets, we will contact you and explain why. We will also keep you informed of the progress of any action taken.
