Although not a legal requirement, in general most people working in the food business will need the foundation certificate in food hygiene. Managers and supervisors would benefit from a higher level of training, for which they can gain intermediate and advanced certificates in food safety. This will enable them to deal with important food safety issues such as 'hazard analysis' and 'due diligence'.
