Business rates relief may be given to property where a part is unused for a short time.
For relief to be awarded we have to ask the Valuation Office to value the occupied and the unoccupied parts. If an application is successful, you will only pay full rates on the occupied part of the property. However, this reduction is limited to 3 months for shops and offices and 6 months to industrial properties.
